Jaromír Klepáč is the winner of a number of interpretation competitions, including the Chopin Competition in Mariánské Lázně and the International Piano Duo Competition. He won 3rd prize at the ARD International Music Competition 1984 in Munich and 2nd prize at the Prix Martinů Piano Competition in Paris. For recording Mendelssohn's sextet for piano and strings he won the Diapason d´Or award in 2006.
As a soloist and a chamber musician, he performs in music halls in Europe and overseas (USA, Canada, Asia, Africa). In recent seasons he has performed Tchaikovsky's Concerto in b minor, Ferenc Liszt's Concerto in E flat major with SOČR and Schumann's Concerto in a minor with the Philharmonie Südwestfalen with Harris Russell. In 2007-2009 he gave recitals in Dvořák Hall in Prague, Reykjavik, Sofia, Brussels, The Hague, Dresden, Frankfurt am Main, Warsaw, etc.
He has been teaching at the University of Music in Dresden since 2002 and currently is a professor of piano at the Prague International Conservatory. He leads master classes in Salzburg, Telč, Reykjavík, Edmonton, Rio de Janeiro and Prague. During the years he has recorded CD´s for European companies Supraphon, Panton, Bonton, Calliope, Harmonia Mundi or the American company RIAX.
