Matyas studied at elementary art school in Česká Lípa playing both the double bass and the bass guitar. He graduated the Prague Conservatory in the class of Tomáš Vybíral. Currently he is studying Conservatory of Jaroslav Ježek as a bass guitar player in the class of Petr Vlášek.
He was a member of big band Jazzová farma. During his studies he gained experience with orchestras touring abroad and in studios in Prague. He played with conductors such as Adam Klemens, Chuhei Iwasaki or Pavel Trojan Jr.
Besides classical music he is also interested in metal and rock music, occasionally funk, jazz or pop. Moreover, he has experience as a member of popular music-related genres bands in a role of bassist/backing vocalist.
